John formally received Dharma transmission (april, 2025) in the lineage that goes back to the historical Buddha via Willem Scheepers Roshi, Nico Tydeman Roshi, Genpo Roshi and Maezumi Roshi.
John (1960) is a student of Willem Scheepers Roshi. He teaches at Zentrum (Utrecht) since 2014 and since 2017 at Ming Zen Centrum (in IJsselstein) of which he is the cofounder.

Chronic disease and pain
John has a rheumatic disorder and is a long time (10 years) volunteer self-management trainer (Dutch Arthritis Foundation). He developed an extensive first hand experience with chronic disease and pain.
